Parental Burnout Stories
Tell us about your Parental Burnout Stories & how you managed to overcome them below
This month, Profeta is raising awareness about parental burnout and ways parents can regain their sanity, health, and wellbeing whilst still keeping their families healthy. We’ve all hit rock bottom with our personal wellbeing and mental health before, or we know someone who has. Parenting can be a thankless, difficult job, and we at Profeta want to raise awareness and give you control of your own physical and mental wellbeing.
We recently read an article that echoes a common feeling for most parents experiencing exhaustion and burnout:
“We want to be the best at our jobs, and you want to be the best with your kids, and then you want to sometimes take time for yourself, and you feel guilty, but you can’t feel guilty. You’re allowed to go to a movie with your husband. You’re allowed to go to a movie with your friend without having a breakdown.”
For most parents, experiencing anxiety, stress, or even suicidal and violent thoughts can be quite closely linked with your physical health.
Another study reports one patient saying: “I was filled up with anxiety […] I think that too got me down… when you do not get enough sleep, for sure you cannot physically cope: you lose your patience, you get exhausted and angry. This in turn has an impact on your mental health as your reasoning abilities are thwarted.”
As we’re raising awareness about parental burnout this month, we’d love to hear from you – our customers – how do you deal with your various commitments? Does your health suffer? And lastly, how do you supplement or make sure you and your family are getting the care they need?
